"Carnival of Shadows"
By: R.J. Ellory

This book ended up turning into a story I wasn’t expecting at all, as the plot changed from being simple murder mystery set in the beginnings of the FBI’s Behavioural Analysis Unit in the late 1950s to a conspiracy story essentially. I do think I would have preferred it if it remained like the start of the story, perhaps only with the supernatural aspects but without the conspiracy added as the story went on.

It was readable, despite the plot weaknesses, and enjoyable but still only a 3 star book at most as it was too forgettable.
