"The Testimony of the Hanged Man"
By: Ann Granger

This was the first book I've ever read by Ann Granger and I really enjoyed, I'm defiantly going to be reading more of her books! It's a historical detective novel that follows a London based police officer and his wife in the 1860s as they try to solve a couple of cases. It is an interesting and easy read, though it could be described as being a touch on the light/short side.

This book is actually the latest in a series of books surrounding the same husband and wife, but the only time it showed was during a couple of very brief scenes involving the wife's family members that appear to benefit from having read the previous books. In this case the two scenes are very short, minor and have nothing to do with the rest of the story, so not being familiar with these characters does not affect the rest of the book at all.
