"The Spear"

I did like "The Spear" and it was certainly easy to read. I found the plot line moderately interesting; I'm actually surprised I didn't find it more interesting given how well written it was and how careful he appeared to has been to keep the basic plot from heading into the ridiculous category. (As the basic plot line of a secret Nazi organization started and led by Himmler during World War II, could have very easily ended up being a stereotypically bad horror plot).
I think the main reason I didn't enjoy this book as much I have enjoyed other books by James Herbert is due to the fact that it's mainly a thriller with very a tiny amount of supernatural/horror components added - most of which only show up at the very end.
