"Angels & Aristocrats"
This is being held in the area of the Auckland Art Gallery that normally houses the exhibitions that are usually charged for, though this exhibition is free to get into. It is an interesting set of, mostly, paintings and well worth seeing but it does come across as being something of a forced theme. It did seem to me that they needed something to put in this section when the "Who Shot Rock & Roll" exhibition finished earlier this month, so decided to create a collection of the art galleries older art works.
It is still worth being able to check a number of the works the gallery doesn't have room to be able to display on a regular basis and as it is a free exhibit the fact that the various works of art have a random feel about beyond the fact that they were early additions to the galleries collection, doesn't matter.
